Both flat and edge versions might include this feature

It looks like handset makers are starting to neglect customers that prefer phones with standard 5- or 5.2-inch displays. Samsung has its Galaxy S lineup that's meant exactly for this type of customers, but the upcoming models might not be so small if we are to believe the latest rumors.

According to a new report, Samsung plans to launch two Galaxy S8 variations, but neither will sport a display smaller than 5.7 inches.

Such a large screen automatically puts the phone in the phablet category, so customers who don't want this type of phones might be inclined to start looking for alternatives from other handset makers.

Anyway, the second Galaxy S8 is said to boast an even larger 6.2-inch display. This one will come with a flat bezel-less panel, while the 5.7-inch version will feature a dual-edge curved display. They are known as Samsung SM-G950 and SM-G955.

The same source claims Samsung Galaxy S8 will also feature stereo speakers, which might or might not wear Harman's branding.

As some of you already know, Samsung recently acquired Harman for $8 billion, which is why there are rumors claiming the South Korean company might use its sound technology in the Galaxy S8.

Aside from the fact that Samsung will launch two different versions of the Galaxy S8, both with large display, there will also be two variations available based on the chipset inside.

Samsung might use the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor inside one of its Galaxy S8 versions, while the other one might get its proprietary Exynos 8895 CPU manufactured using the 10nm FinFET technology.

Obviously, all versions will pack 6GB of RAM and will run the Android Nougat operating system right out of the box.

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S8 at Mobile World Congress 2017, in late February, but details about the phone might still leak until then.
