No word though on the number of megapixels

We're about three months away from the Galaxy S8's reveal and rumors about Samsung's flagship continue to emerge. In the last couple of weeks, we've been talking about the chipset inside the Galaxy S8, as well as the display that Samsung might include.

Today, we will be talking about one of the cameras packed inside the Galaxy S8. Rumor has it that Samsung Galaxy S8 could feature a dual-camera setup on the back, but there was no information available about the phone's front-facing camera.

A new report coming from South Korea claims the Galaxy S8 will boast a front-facing camera with autofocus. Unfortunately, the source of the rumor doesn't reveal anything about the number of megapixels, but the fact that the secondary camera comes with autofocus is quite unusual.

Sony Xperia XA is one of the few smartphones available on the market that packs an 8-megapixel front camera with autofocus.

The HTC Desire Eye is another handset that comes with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera that features autofocus functionality.

The Xperia C4 has a slightly lower 5-megapixel camera in the front, but it offers advanced features like OIS or Sony Steady Shot technology, as well as HDR and autofocus.

A flagship for everyone

So, while the Galaxy S8 surely won't be the only smartphone to include a front-facing camera with autofocus, it will be one of the few that will provide users with advanced features when they want to take a selfie.

Other highlights of the Galaxy S8, which haven't been confirmed by Samsung, include either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 9 chipset, coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory.

Samsung might also introduce a 256GB version of the Galaxy S8, but the price will be quite high probably. We expect the Galaxy S8 to feature a dual-edge curved display, but a flat model might be launched as well.

The South Korean company will unveil the Galaxy S8 in late February at Mobile World Congress 2017, but the phone won't be available on the market until March.
