Samsung totally dominates the rankings of the latest review conducted by US consumer organization Consumer reports, with three of its latest models getting the first places in the chart.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is the leading phone, according to the consumer group, followed by the Galaxy S8+ and the Samsung Galaxy S7. The first two models were launched earlier this year, while the last one was introduced in the spring of 2016.

Apple’s new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus finished fourth and fifth, respectively, followed by another Samsung model, this time the Galaxy Note 8 launched only a couple of months ago.

According to reports, the Note 8 could have scored better, but Consumer Reports rated the device as having weak durability and heavy weight as compared to the first 5 models in the charts.

Apple losing the battle with rival Samsung

For Apple, however, this is quite a hit, as the Galaxy S8 is considered the top alternative to its iPhone lineup. The iPhone 8 was introduced in September, but it brings only subtle improvements as compared to the previous generation, including a similar design, but with a glass-made body and feature upgrades like wireless charging.

The iPhone X, which is Apple’s high-end device this year, hasn’t been included in the review since it only launches on November 3.

The consumer group recently praised the iPhone 8 in terms of camera and battery performance, revealing that it’s one of the best models on the market right now regarding such features. Consumer Reports, however, explained in its review that customers who expect a more substantial upgrade package should wait for the iPhone X, which comes with an OLED screen and exclusive features like the Face ID facial recognition system.

Neither Apple nor Samsung released statements following the new Consumer Reports review, but there’s no doubt the latter is more than happy to see its models topping the charts, even though the Note 8 should have done substantially better.
