14 DAY TRIAL // A Reddit user reports on a new feature that Google recently added to his Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone in the Google Play Music application, called New Release Radio.
Back in April, Google teamed up with Samsung, the world’s largest Android smartphone maker, to make Google Play Music the default music player for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices, promising customers special features that would be exclusive for their new smartphones.
For starters, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners were allowed to upload 100K songs to their Google Play Music account insted 50K songs as any other user could, for free, an extra perk that came along with free three-month trial of Google Play Music so they can access over 40 million songs without ads.
Apart from that, new Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners had access to the premium YouTube Red (only in select areas) to enjoy all of their favorite videos without any ads. But Google also promises that it will add more exclusive features in the long run, starting with support for Samsung’s Bixby intelligent interface.
Introducing New Release Radio
And now, those who own Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones can enjoy a new radio station feature called New Release Radio, which Google recently introduced for these devices, allowing users to listen to brand new music that's personalized to their taste and listening history.
New Release Radio feature appears to update daily and present Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners with fresh music. However, some Android users on Reddit are reporting that they are using this feature for a few weeks now, and others says that it's also possible to install it on other smartphones, so check the thread for instructions.
In related news, Samsung recently sent an open invitation to Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners in the U.S. to sign up and participate in the upcoming early preview test for Bixby's new voice-control capabilities, which could also integrate with Google Play Music and other apps that come installed by default in these devices.
