Samsung is currently conducting the global recall of its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 7. However, the company is also working on its next flagship device and some rumors say that it might arrive sooner than predicted.

The Galaxy S8 could come earlier than February next year, as Samsung will be focusing on regaining consumer confidence in Galaxy products.

Although it does seem a bit early to talk about the features of the upcoming smartphone, the spec sheet seems to have leaked on Weibo, according to Tech Updates. The information should be taken with a grain of salt, though, considering that there still are a few months left until Samsung might announce this next device.

Previous rumors mentioned that the Galaxy S8 could come in two variants, internally known as Dream and Dream2. It is also said that Samsung will only provide Galaxy S8 variants with dual-edge displays.

Galaxy S8 could feature 6GB of RAM and an iris scanner

The leaked specs indicate that the Galaxy S8 could come with a 5.2-inch 4k display with 4096 x 2160 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. It could also run an octa-core 3.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and have 6GB of RAM, together with 64GB or 128GB of internal memory with the option to add more using a microSD card. It could also have a fingerprint and an iris scanner.

Rear camera capacity is quite impressive at 30MP, while the front camera could have a capacity of 9MP. It seems that the smartphone could also come with dual camera setup on the back. A 4K display and 6GB of RAM means that the smartphone must integrate a powerful battery.

The leaked specs sheet shows that the smartphone could have a battery capacity of 4,200mAh, more than on the previous Galaxy S7 or the Note 7. It also reveals that the smartphone might be made available in four color variants, blue, black, gold and white.

The price tag could reach $850, and it remains to be seen if the final version will actually pack these components, but some price changes could be made. Samsung could also release a variant with Exynos 8895 and ARM Mali-G71 graphics processing unit. The leak mentions that the Galaxy S8 will be released in April 2017 and might run the latest Android Nougat version.
