Samsung is expected to announce an Active variant of its Galaxy S8 smartphone, one that will be available at AT&T, possibly next month. The smartphone has just appeared in a leaked picture, revealing a flat display.

The picture surfaced over at the WirelessPowerConsortium, revealing the front panel of the upcoming Galaxy S8 Active. A flat screen is noticeable on the Galaxy S8 Active, quite different from the Infinity Display found on the standard model.

Still, the image reveals all the sensors placed at the top of the screen, while the physical home button is nowhere to be seen. Moreover, the power button is located on the right side, while the left side accommodates the volume rocker and the Bixby button.

The Galaxy S8 Active will arrive at AT&T soon

The smartphone pictured in the image carries the code number SM-G892A and it’s expected to come with wireless charging, as well as other features. Regarding internal specs of the Galaxy S8 Active, they should be similar to the standard version, meaning that the phone will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 platform, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The phone will run Android Nougat and feature a 12MP sensor on the back, together with an 8MP camera in the front.

Battery capacity on the Galaxy S8 is 3,000mAh, while Samsung is expected to provide a higher capacity on the S8 Active, namely 3,500mAh. Other than that, the smartphone will come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and compliance with MIL-STD-810G standard of durability, just like previous models. It will also have IP68 certification against water and dust damages, as well as a more rugged and durable body.

Rumors say that the Galaxy S8 Active will arrive at AT&T in June, and it remains to be seen if it will be sold in other countries as well. Pricing will be revealed when the smartphone is launched, and it shouldn’t be long now.
