Samsung is preparing to launch another Galaxy S8 variant, and evidence of this was recently found in a User Agent String. The smartphone carrying the code number SM-G892A is believed to be the AT&T-branded model of the rugged Galaxy S8 Active.

The User Agent String was pointed out by leakster Roland Quandt, but the only information that the listing reveals is that the smartphone in question carries the code number SM-G892A. This is believed to be the AT&T variant of the Galaxy S8 Active, expected to arrive sometime this summer.

That being said, Samsung Galaxy S Active devices usually have MIL-STD-810G standard compliance, in addition to IP68 certification, and the Galaxy S8 Active shouldn’t be an exception. However, it’s unclear if internals will be the same as on the standard Galaxy S8.

The Galaxy S8 Active could arrive next month

Typically, AT&T outs Galaxy S Active smartphones in June, which means that this year’s model could actually arrive next month. The Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch display with 1440 x 2960 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5, while the Active variant could have a similar screen.

Inside, the rugged version of the Galaxy S8 might run the same Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM capacity and 64GB of internal memory. A 12MP camera could be featured on the back, with an 8MP selfie snapper in the front.

In terms of battery capacity, the Galaxy S8 Active should draw power from a 3,000mAh juicer at least, similar to the one found on the Galaxy S8. But the larger Galaxy S8+ received a bigger battery of 3,500mAh.

Regardless, more information about the upcoming Galaxy S8 Active will surely arrive soon. June is expected to be a busy month for Samsung, since the smartphone maker intends to make the Galaxy S8 Active available to its customers in the US, while those from a select number of countries will get the option to purchase the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 device. Sadly, the Galaxy Note 7R won’t arrive to the US or Canada.
