Samsung’s Galaxy S7 release date has already surfaced

The whole tech community is eagerly anticipating the launch of Samsung’s next best thing, the Galaxy Note 5 smartphone. The Korean tech giant usually unveils a new Galaxy Note model during the IFA 2015 trade show in Berlin, which takes place in September.

But according to the rumor mill, things might be a little different this year, as Samsung is said to unveil the new phablet ahead of schedule (an August date was given) in order to be able to better compete with Apple’s new iPhone 6s. And now a new report claims that Sammy is dragging the release date of the Galaxy S7 closer as well.

Interestingly enough, Newsis, a South Korean publication, now claims to have insider information according to which the electronics behemoth has started the development of the next-gen Galaxy S7 two-three months ahead of schedule and will be ready to unveil the model in the second part of 2015 (obviously towards the end).

Two Galaxy S premium smartphones might be released this year

Usually, Samsung launches a new Galaxy flagship each year during the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona, a trade show that takes place in March, meaning the first quarter of the year. So if the new report turns out to be true, it would be a first for Samsung to launch two separate Galaxy S models during the same year.

The reason why Samsung is reportedly in such a rush to put out the new Galaxy S7 on the market is Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6s / iPhone 6s Plus duo.

It appears that Samsung is taking the threat of the new Apple phones extremely seriously, so it is looking to strengthen his premium lineup in the second half of the year as much as it can.

On top of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 5, Samsung is also rumored to be working towards releasing a larger version of the current S6 edge, called the Galaxy S6 edge Plus.

Obviously, you need to take this information with the dose of skepticism it deserves, because the claims here are pretty wild.

It seems highly unlikely that Samsung will be ready in time (by the end of the year) with a worthy-enough flagship that could be called the Galaxy S6’s successor.

A slightly revamped Galaxy S6 won’t help Samsung fight against the menace of the new iPhones, so we believe that the Korean tech giant will end up sticking to the usual schedule.
