For those Android fans who prefer phablets instead of a regular smartphone with a medium-sized display, Samsung has prepared the Galaxy S7 edge.

If you've been tempted to purchase Samsung's Galaxy S flagship but had second thoughts due to the small size of the display, then the Galaxy S7 edge is meant to suit your needs.

The smartphone comes with a larger 5.5-inch sAMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating.

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge features an Always-on display, which means you will be able to check the time and calendar while the phone is locked. You can even select an image to show instead of fully turning off the screen.

The phone's curved display comes with advanced tasks edge features that enable users to access information from the edges of the screen. Samsung also confirmed the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge come with pressure-sensitive displays.

According to Samsung, Galaxy S7 edge comes with either Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor, so depending on the region you will be able to purchase one of them.

It's also important to mention that the Qualcomm-based version has IP67-certification, whereas the Exynos-powered Galaxy S7 edge comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

All versions of the phone, including the Galaxy S7, pack 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

The Galaxy S7 edge comes with a dual pixel 12-megapixel camera that allows for blazing fast autofocus and better pictures in low-light conditions. There's also a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front for selfies.

Samsung's curved Galaxy S7 model is powered by a decent non-removable 3,600 mAh battery and comes with wireless charging (charging pad required).

On the downside, neither Galaxy S7 model comes with USB Type-C port. Instead, Samsung has decided to keep the microUSB 2.0 port.
