14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung’s Galaxy S7 is selling like hot cakes these days, so it’s no wonder that there are companies out there trying to capitalize on its growing popularity. And the best way to do that is to build a clone that looks just like the real deal but is available at incredible prices.
A video posted by YouTube Techvarium shows one of the best Samsung Galaxy S7 clones, which looks almost identical to the real model and is reportedly being built by a company in China.
As you can see in the clip below, the first difference you might spot is the box: you need to lift it from top instead of sliding out the content through the side. In terms of phone design, it’s worth noting that the original model and the clone look almost identical, but with one major difference: the latter is made from plastic, so it just feels cheaper than the Galaxy S7.
Cheap hardware
And the most shocking part is the hardware. The clone comes with a quad-core processor with 512 MB of RAM while the Galaxy S7 has the powerful Qualcomm 820 processor (or Samsung’s Exynos) coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The Chinese clone also uses a 5-megapixel camera without OIS and 2000 mAh battery, and the Samsung features 12-megapixel Dual Pixel camera with OIS and 3000 mAh battery.
It goes without saying that it’s easy to be tricked into believing that you buy a genuine Galaxy S7 if you don’t check all these things carefully, but keep in mind that in case you come across a phone whose price is too good to be true, it’s probably fake. Unless you get to try it and make sure it’s the real deal.
