Samsung has just announced that it will offer its flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, unlocked available in the US. The good news is that the devices will support all bands, which will make them available on all major US carriers.

Since their launch earlier this year, Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones have set the bar when it comes to flagships. The devices were very well received by consumers, even if they didn't come with any major design or spec changes. Still, Samsung did indeed fix some issues that were present on the predecessors, the S6 and S6 Edge.

Today, Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge unlocked will be made available in the US. The two smartphones will support all bands, including CDMA, GSM, UMTS and more, according to BusinessWire. This means that the handsets will work on all major US carriers, like AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, Sprint, and others.

Unlocked Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge come with the same specs as previous models

The devices come free of carrier apps, and the unlocked versions have the same specs as their locked carrier counterparts. This means that the smartphones pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 12MP rear cameras. They will have IP68 certification and arrive with fast and wireless charging. Samsung Pay and other manufacturer warranties will be supported.

In addition, since these are unlocked versions, customers will be able to choose whether they want to have Samsung apps installed on the devices.

This is not the first time Samsung releases unlocked versions of smartphones in the S series. Last year, the South-Korean company introduced a GSM version of the Galaxy S6 in its online store.

Unlocked versions of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are available at major US retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Sam's Club, and Target.

Samsung's Galaxy S7 costs about $669.99 while the Galaxy S7 Edge goes for roughly $769.99, but prices slightly differ from one retailer to another.
