Report reveals Galaxy S11 storage options

Now that the Galaxy Note10 is already here, Samsung can move on to the next flagship, which according to the company’s typical schedule should be the Galaxy S11.

Needless to say, the Galaxy S11 is expected to introduce a new series of innovations, and one of them appears to be an upgrade to 1TB of storage space.

While you can already get that much storage on a Samsung phone by coupling a 512GB internal storage option with a 512GB microSD card, the South Korean company wants the S11 to offer 1TB storage from the get-go, though at this point it’s not known if the microSD card option is going away or not.

Most likely, however, Samsung will use UFC 3.0 storage, which is already available on the Note10, to provide faster transfer speeds (and this is actually one of the reasons the card slot might be going away soon too).

Three S11 versions

SamMobile writes that Samsung will bring two different versions of the Galaxy S11 to the market, as it follows.

First, it’ll be the configuration model number SM-G981, which will be offered with two storage options, namely 128GB and 512GB.

Then, the SM-G986, which will come with three different options, 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

And last but not least, it’s the top-of-the-range SM-G988, which will come with the same storage choices as SM-G986, but will also include a fourth option with 1TB of storage.

Samsung Galaxy S11 is projected to go live in February next year, and since we’re so far way from this unveiling date, it’s better to take such information with a certain amount of skepticism.

However, given that Samsung has already reached the 512GB storage tier, upgrading the flagships to 1TB of storage is certainly not surprising and, moreover, it’s something that you’d normally expect from the world’s number one phone manufacturer.
