Samsung is expected to release some new devices this year, aside from its highly anticipated Galaxy Note 7, set to arrive on August 2. The South Korean company is currently working on the upcoming Galaxy On(5) 2016, which has recently appeared on Geekbench.

The smartphone has the code name SM-G570F, and the listing offers some specifications and details to be expected on the device, according to PriceRaja. The post reveals that it should run Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box and feature 2GB of RAM. It is also likely to sport an Exynos 7570 chipset and a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU, and the Galaxy On5 (2016) has scored 2000 on the benchmark test. The device was also recently spotted on Zauba import export website from India, which revealed that it would sport a 5-inch screen.

The Galaxy On5 (2016) is the successor to last year’s model, and it also brings some improvements over the previous device. Galaxy On5 (2015) is a mid-range phone released last year, and it sported a 5-inch display with 720p resolution and 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor with 1.5GB of RAM. This year’s model will bring considerable enhancements in the RAM department.

The device also had 8GB of storage and the option to expand memory to up to 128GB with a micro-SD card. The smartphone also had an 8MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, and video recording. Moreover, it came with 5MP on the front camera.

Samsung will release the Galaxy On5 (2016), together with the On7 (2016)

Most likely, Samsung will release the Galaxy On5 (2016) together with the Galaxy On7 (2016), as it happened last year. The Galaxy On7 (2016) was also spotted a while back on Zauba, and it is rumored to come with a 5.5-inch display, 1080p resolution, a 13MP rear camera and 8MP in the front. It will have the same internal memory as the Galaxy On5 (2016), but all other specs are expected to be more advanced.

At this point, it’s unclear when Samsung will decide to release the two devices, but considering that last year’s models were unveiled in November, we can expect the Galaxy On5 and On7 (2016) to see the light of day about in the same month.
