Samsung is currently working on other smartphones, aside from its Galaxy Note 7, which is set for unveiling on August 2, during the Unpacked 2016 event in New York City. But besides that, the South Korean giant is also preparing to release a modified variant of the Galaxy On5, which has just recently passed through the FCC, according to SamMobile.

The Galaxy On5 (2016) has been recently spotted at the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which means that it could debut sooner rather than later. The phone has also popped up on Zauba and Geekbench, where some specs of its have been revealed.

The data from Zauba shows that Samsung imported several units of the SM-G570 into India for testing and evaluation. The Galaxy On5 has the model number SM-G550, which makes it very likely that the SM-G570 is the Galaxy On5 (2016).

The Galaxy On5 (2016) will most likely come with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1, as well as 2GB of RAM. It could pack an Exynos 7570 chipset, run a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU, and sport a 5-inch screen.

The Galaxy On5 (2016) should be more powerful than the previous model

Galaxy On5 (2016) will most likely be more advanced than its predecessor, the Galaxy On5, released last year. The smartphone had a 5-inch display with 720p resolution and 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor with 1.5GB of RAM.

In addition, it came with just 8GB of internal storage and the option to expand memory to up to 128GB with the help of a microSD card. The handset also featured an 8MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, and video recording. It had 5MP on the front camera and ran Android Lollipop 5.1.

Galaxy On5 (2015) was unveiled together with the Galaxy On7 (2015), and it is believed that upgraded versions of the two smartphones will also be released together.
