The latest report from The Investor via ET News suggests Samsung Electronics’ upcoming Galaxy Note 8 phablet will come with force touch support built into the device to read the pressure applied to the screen.

According to the South Korean news website, it would appear that Samsung plans to follow in the footsteps of Apple's legendary 3D Touch feature that the Cupertino company implemented in the iPhone since last year's iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models, including the now very popular iPhone 7 and 7 Plus variants.

The so-called force touch will work very much the same as that of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones, which Samsung adopted earlier this year for its flagship devices, replacing the functionality of the home button and providing shortcuts to various common functionality of some of the pre-installed Android apps.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to launch on August 23 in eight color variants

Similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ models, the soon-to-be-unveiled Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phablet won't come with a physical home button. Instead, it will feature a full-screen display design, which covers almost the entire front body of the device.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 8 device in the United States and South Korea in two weeks from today, on August 23, 2017, and latest leaks suggest the smartphone will have a very large 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display and come in eight color variants.

Galaxy Note 8 will probably go on sale in mid-September, just ahead of Apple's next iPhone model. The phablet it rumored to have a dual camera system, a 3,300 mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, and the same CPU as the Galaxy S8+. Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 8 in a public event in New York City.
