Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones will be released in just a few days, but rumors about the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 have already surfaced online. Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts Samsung will equip the Note 8 with a dual-camera setup, according to investor notes obtained by AppleInsider.

The analyst says that the dual-lens setup on the back of the Galaxy Note 8 will be better than that found on the iPhone 7 Plus and could match the performance of the one on the upcoming iPhone 8. He believes that the setup could have a 12MP wide-angle CIS that supports dual photobodies, and a 13MP telephoto CIS, together with dual 6P lens and dual OIS.

The rear camera setup is said to also have a 3x optical zoom feature. There have been images with a Galaxy S8+ prototype featuring a dual-camera setup on the back, perhaps Samsung will bring the setup to the Galaxy Note 8 instead.

6.4-inch OLED display on the Note 8

Aside from the exciting dual-camera setup on the back, the Galaxy Note 8 is also rumored to come with a 6.4-inch QHD+ OLED display, compared to the 5.7-inch on the Galaxy Note 7. If this prediction turns out to be accurate, then the Galaxy Note 8 will have a bigger OLED screen than the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, which come respectively with 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch screens.

Kuo also predicts that the Note 8 will have a rear fingerprint scanner, but perhaps until the phone’s announcement, Samsung will perfect the technology and incorporate the scanner below the display. Other specs for the upcoming Note 8 include Samsung’s Exynos 8895 chip or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 platform.

Aside from predictions about the Galaxy Note 8, the analyst also increased his shipment estimates for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ to 50-55 million units, from 40-45 million units. Kuo believes that the edge-to-edge Infinity Display on the two devices will be well received on the market.
