We’ve seen lots of leaks and unofficial renders revealing the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8, but here’s the very first official picture confirming what we already knew about the device.

This photo published by @evleaks reveals the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in Midnight Black, which is expected to be just one of the four colors available on the new phablet.

As you can see for yourselves by zooming in the picture here, the Note 8 looks similar to what we’ve seen in the other leaks, featuring an appearance that closely resembles the one of the Galaxy S8+. In fact, the two devices will be similar in many regards, with the Note 8 to feature a 6.3-inch display versus the 6.2-inch on the S8+.

While the photo reveals the front of the phone, which sticks with the no-bezel approach that Samsung embraced for the S series, the back is the one that’s bringing more changes.

Dual-camera configuration

The Note 8 is expected to launch with a dual-camera system similar to the one on the iPhone 7 Plus, but instead offering more advanced camera capabilities, including 3x optical zoom. The cameras will be placed in a dedicated cutout on the back that would also include the fingerprint sensor, which will be moved slightly closer to the edge of the phone, presumably making it easier to reach.

In the United States, the Note 8 will most likely be powered by the Snapdragon 835 chip, just like the Samsung Galaxy S8+, with the other specs to be similar as well.

There are still several features that are yet to be leaked ahead of the public launch, such as the speakers, as there were people claiming that Samsung could upgrade the mono speaker from the S8 to a stereo configuration to bring it in line with other flagships, including the iPhone 7 Plus.

Full details will be unveiled on August 23 at a dedicated press event in New York when Samsung will reveal all specs and details about its new flagship.

UPDATE: @evleaks has posted a photo showing other colors of the Note 8, including the phone from other angles, and you can check it out below:
