Now that the Galaxy S8 is out, Samsung is focusing on developing its next flagship, the Galaxy Note 8. The upcoming premium smartphone is quite important for the South Korean company, since it’s the successor to last year’s disconnected Galaxy Note 7.

Some important details about the upcoming smartphone are already known. Aside from the fact that it will feature the latest specs and processor from Qualcomm, the device will also be the first Samsung flagship to feature a dual-camera setup on its back, accompanied by a LED flash.

An image purporting the Galaxy Note 8 dummy seems to confirm the dual-lens system on the back of the smartphone and reveals that it will be featured in a vertical position, according to a report.

Two camera sensors were expected on the back of the Galaxy S8, but Samsung decided otherwise. Perhaps the company needed more time to perfect the technology. The same may have happened with the fingerprint sensor, which was said to be embedded under the display, but was featured on the back of the phone in the final retail version.

6.3-inch Infinity Display on Galaxy Note 8

The Galaxy Note 8 dummy doesn’t reveal a fingerprint scanner on the back panel, while the Infinity Display almost covers the whole front panel. There’s no place for Samsung to incorporate the scanner below the screen, which means that it could actually be featured underneath the display. Apple is expected to make the same move with the iPhone 8.

In terms of specs, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to come with a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, while the rear camera setup will consist of 12MP and 13MP sensors with 3x optical zoom. The S Pen stylus will surely make a comeback on the new Galaxy Note smartphone, while the battery is rumored to be slightly larger than on the Galaxy Note 7.

Inside, the phone will most likely run the Snapdragon 835 platform, while the next Qualcomm flagship chipset will arrive with the Galaxy S9 next year. That being said, take the information with a grain of salt, as Samsung still has time to make modifications to the Galaxy Note 8 prototypes that it's been working on.
