Now that the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are out, Samsung is focusing on developing the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 and information about the new device continues to surface. A new report states that the Note 8 will feature a dual-camera setup with 12MP and 13MP lenses.

Samsung planned to bring a dual-camera system on the Galaxy S8, but at some point the Korean company reconsidered and decided against two lenses on the Galaxy S8. Still, a dual-camera setup is expected to arrive on a smartphone part of the Galaxy C series, before it will be featured on the Galaxy Note 8 later this year.

The latest report reveals that the Galaxy Note 8 will feature a dual-lens setup on the back with both 12MP and 13MP sensors. The telephoto lens will allow up to 3x optical zoom on Samsung’s new smartphone.

6.3-inch Infinity Display on the Galaxy Note 8

Such a dual-camera setup would easily discern between the subject and the background, thus allowing for a stunning bokeh effect. The Galaxy Note 8 should be equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 platform and a camera setup that will surely be better than the lens found on the Galaxy S8, which currently scored 88 on the DxOMark scale, less than the Pixel or HTC U11.

Aside from this, Samsung will also feature an Infinity Display on the Galaxy Note 8, with a 6.3-inch screen size and 18.5:9 aspect ratio, same as on the Galaxy S8. The screen size will be about 0.1-inch larger than on the Galaxy S8+, allowing for more content to be displayed and more space to use the S Pen stylus.

At this point, it’s uncertain if Samsung will go with a 4k resolution display on the upcoming Galaxy Note 8, but the company’s intention to expand in the VR segment is well-known. The Galaxy Note 8 should make its debut later this year, with Bixby AI inside and Android Nougat out of the box.
