Samsung has recently stated that the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will arrive before the Galaxy Note 8 makes its debut later this year. The Note 8 could be announced sometime in August or September, which means that the Note 7R might actually be released in June at the earliest.

The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 recently received Bluetooth SIG certification, signaling the fact that the phone could be launched very soon. The listing reveals that the phone carries model number SM-N935F, but it doesn’t provide any additional information about the device.

The Galaxy Note 7R is known to be featuring a smaller battery capacity compared to the original model’s 3,500mAh. The refurbished variant will draw power from a 3,200mAh battery, while its other specs will stay roughly the same.

The refurbished Galaxy Note 7R could sell for $620 in South Korea

In terms of pricing, the Note 7R is expected to feature a price tag of $620 in Korea, although some local reports did say that it could actually sell for less. Although the smartphone has received a number of certifications, Samsung still has to get the green light from certain Korean institutions.

The smartphone maker has yet to submit the Galaxy Note 7R to the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards, as well as the National Radio Research Agency. The two agencies must examine and verify the safety of the refurbished model and then provide a report to Samsung with their findings. The process could take up to one month and Samsung is expected to commence procedures soon.

The Galaxy Note 7 disaster hit Samsung financially last year, as the Korean smartphone maker was forced to recall millions of phones that it sold worldwide. This prompted the company to launch a more rigorous quality assurance program for its smartphones and carefully conduct tests on devices before prepping them for shipment. Samsung’s financial situation and brand image seem to have recovered since, and the company is now focusing on promoting its latest flagship, the Galaxy S8.
