Samsung unveiled its latest flagship earlier this month, and the device has certainly caught the attention of the market. DisplayMate, an industry standard for evaluating and comparing all types of displays, has announced that the Galaxy Note 7 has the best smartphone screen out there.

DisplayMate conducts all sorts of tests in order to evaluate the quality of smartphone screens, with the organization focusing on flagships. They have now stated that the Note 7 has the most advanced flexible OLED display that provides a dual-edge curved screen.

The report also mentions that the Note 7 provides major and important display enhancements, and the handset has the most innovative and high-performance screen that DisplayMate has ever tested. Moreover, the screen features 4 display screen modes and color gamuts, with the resolution reaching 2560 x 1440 Quad HD with 518 pixels per inch.

Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the display that comes with Blue Light Filter mode and has a record high peak brightness of over 1,000 nits, used for improving screen visibility. In comparison, the peak brightness for Galaxy S7 phones reaches 855 nits. The Note 7 is the first handset to come with dual ambient light sensors both on the front and back.

Note 7's display is more advanced than that of the Note 5

DisplayMate's analysis shows that the Note 7's display is more advanced than that of the Note 5 or Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The Note 7 has one of the lowest reflectance rates that DisplayMate has ever tested, ranking at 4.6%.

The Galaxy Note 7 also comes with adaptive display screen mode with the largest color gamut available. The screen mode provides real-time adaptive processing to adjust images and videos, and it delivers high color saturation. Aside from this, the device comes with super dimming mode, which allows users to set the maximum screen brightness to as low as 2 nits so that the user's eyes won't be strained when looking at the display in low light conditions.

Galaxy Note 7 does boast some really powerful specs, and we must say that we're not surprised it has the best smartphone display out there, considering that Samsung is one of the leading manufacturers of phone screens.
