14 DAY TRIAL // Now that Galaxy S7 and its curved sibling are out, Samsung can start building the hype around its other flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 6.
Usually launched in early fall at IFA trade fair, Samsung managed to launch the Galaxy Note 5 last year one month early to avoid competing with Apple’s iPhone 6S.
It looks like this year the South Korean company wishes to bring its flagship phablet to market even earlier. According to Korean website The Bell, Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will be launched sometime in mid-July, which means we’re just four months away from its official unveiling.
Moreover, the phablet will ship with Android N on board, which makes us believe that the Galaxy Note 6 will not actually be available for purchase in July, but several weeks later.
Android N as early as July?
Google has just announced Android N, and we expect the company to offer more details on its release in May at I/O conference, but we doubt that it will be able to make it available in July.
Aside from Android N, Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will also come with a whopping 6GB RAM inside, as well as either 128GB or 256GB of storage.
Rumor has it that the success of the 12-megapixel camera inside the Galaxy S7/S7 edge convinced Samsung to embed it into the Galaxy Note 6 as well, so we can expect the phablet to include the same dual pixel camera too.
When it comes to hardware, there’s no doubt that Samsung will include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset inside the Galaxy Note 6, but there’s a high chance that an Exynos-based model will be available as well.
The rest of the phone’s specs are still a mystery, so we don’t know what type of battery it will include, but the latest hearsay claims the Galaxy Note 6 will boast a slightly larger 5.8-inch Quad HD display. Neither of this information has been confirmed yet, so file it under rumors.
