Samsung will unveil a new flagship in September

After the Galaxy S6 extravaganza, the next best thing expected to come out of Samsung is the Galaxy Note 5 phablet. We’ve been hearing a lot of rumors related to possible release dates of the company’s next-gen flagship, but the most plausible scenario is that Sammy will end up unveiling the new phone during IFA 2015 in Berlin, as it always does.

Not long ago, we saw leak into the wild a bunch of renders showing the protective cases of the Galaxy Note 5, which gave us an idea of what the phone might end up looking like. Well, today we’re seeing a new batch of photos make their way into the wild, this time showing a transparent-looking case. We’re also treated to a not-so-detailed render of the phone, all courtesy of @upleaks.

As you can see in the gallery, the transparent Galaxy Note 5 features large holes on the back, which probably exist to accommodate the rear camera, the LED flash, and the heart rate sensor.

Four other holes are located on the bottom of the case, most likely for the S Pen stylus, speaker, charging port, and a 3.5mm headset jack. Like its soon-to-be predecessor, the Galaxy Note 5 seems to be housing the power button on its right side, while the volume keys rest on the left side.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to be taller and slimmer than the Note 4

The Galaxy Note 5 is tipped to be 7.9 mm / 0.31 inches in profile, thinner than the Galaxy Note 4, which boasts an 8.5 mm / 0.33 inches frame, but chunkier than the sleek Galaxy S6 and its 6.8 mm / 0.26 inch body.

Word on the street also has it that the Galaxy Note 5 will arrive with a 5.9-inch display, which is 0.2 inches larger than the Galaxy Note 4.

Other rumors related to the phablet indicate the phablet will pack either a 2K or 4K Super AMOLED display, S Pen and octa-core Exynos 7422 processor. The phone will come with an innovative technology that will allow Galaxy Note 5 users to pull out the S Pen using specific gestures or vocal commands.

Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone might also come with a USB Type-C port too.
