The Galaxy J7 (2017) is one of Samsung's mid-range smartphones that we've talked about quite a lot in the last couple of months. The handset hasn't been unveiled by the South Korean company yet, but it shouldn't be long until Samsung makes it official.

If you have been following our news feed, then you should know the Galaxy J7 (2017) will be rolled out globally, but in some countries and at some carriers it will be available under different names.

For example, US-based carrier Verizon will launch the smartphone as Samsung Galaxy J7 V, while Tracfone will offer it as Galaxy J7 Sky Pro. The naming scheme might confuse consumers, especially in those countries where the smartphone will be released under different names.

That being said, we've been given the chance to see what the Galaxy J7 V looks like thanks to a press photo leaked by Evan Blass. We doubt there will be major differences between Verizon's Galaxy J7 (2017) and other models, but anything is possible when carriers are involved.

It could be launched in the US in the first half of April

One other detail that might or might not be accurate is the Galaxy J7 V's release date. There's a chance Verizon will start selling the smartphone on April 10, at least that's what the homescreen shown in the press photo suggests.

There's no word on price tag yet, but we won't be surprised if Verizon decides to offer the Galaxy J7 V for free on various contracts. Luckily, we have plenty of details about the phone's specs sheet.

First of all, the Galaxy J7 (2017) and all its variations will come with Android 7.0 Nougat on board. In addition, the smartphone will sport a 5.5-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution.

On the inside, the handset is supposed to pack a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 2GB or 3GB of RAM, and 16GB expandable memory.

Previous reports also suggest the smartphone will feature a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls.

Aside from Verizon and Tracfone, Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) will be picked up by AT&T and US Cellular, but we have yet to learn the name used by these carriers.
