The first information about Galaxy J3 dates from several months ago when the phone's specs leaked online. The successor of the Samsung Galaxy J2 is finally very close to be released on the market.

According to a new report, the Galaxy J3, also known as Samsung SM-J3109, has just received its certification at FCC (Federal Communications Commission). This means that Samsung should unveil the smartphone any moment now.

Although there's no word on availability and price tag for the moment, there's a high chance that the Galaxy J3 won't cost more than $200 outright.

Moving on to specs, the listing at FCC confirmed most of the information that emerged back in April. For those unfamiliar with Samsung Galaxy J3's hardware configuration, here are some details spotted at FCC.

First of all, the smartphone will sport a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. It will offer 4G LTE and 3G connectivity, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.

A cheap LTE smartphone with Lollipop (or Marshmallow)

On the inside, Samsung Galaxy J3 is expected to pack a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, an Adreno 306 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Even though the entry-level handset packs only 8GB of internal memory, users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

There's also an 8-megapixel camera on the back with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls.

We're not sure whether or not Samsung will put Android 6.0 Marshmallow inside the Galaxy J3, but chances are the smartphone will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

There's no information on the battery yet, but the info leaked until now should be enough to provide Android fans with an idea of what the Galaxy J3 has to offer.
