The Galaxy J3 Emerge has been rumored to arrive in the United States since last month. As per our previous report, the smartphone should have been introduced at Sprint on January 6, but the phone has yet to hit the shelves.

The good news is Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge has just emerged in the US, so customers can already pre-order the phone. However, the smartphone will be launched at no less than three carriers in the country: Boost Mobile, Sprint, and Virgin Mobile.

The Sprint model is already available for pre-order via Samsung US online store for just $235 outright. The other two Galaxy J3 Emerge variants can only be purchased via major retailer Best Buy for the same amount.

According to Best Buy, the phone should arrive in stock on January 25, but Samsung hasn't yet announced when exactly the Sprint-bound Galaxy J3 Emerge will hit shelves. Still, we believe it will go on sale around the same time.

A really overpriced low-end smartphone

Now that we've told you the good news, here is something that many will probably not like. The Galaxy J3 Emerge is an entry-level smartphone that doesn't seem to be worth the $235 outright price Samsung is asking.

For starters, the Galaxy J3 Emerge ships with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box. Also, don't expect any major OS updates to be available for this particular phone.

On the inside, Samsung's low-end device is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage expandable via microSD card.

The smartphone comes with a 5-inch display that supports HD (720p) resolution. There's also a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which goes along with a 2-megapixel selfie camera. It's also worth mentioning the Galaxy J3 Emerge is powered by a removable 2,600 mAh battery.
