One of the many affordable Samsung smartphones to make its debut on the market in the next couple of days, the Galaxy J2 has just been spotted in GFXBench database.

This is not the first time we hear about Samsung's Galaxy J2, but it's the first time we've been able to see it being tested, so we expect the device to go official in the not so distant future.

Some of the specs that leaked earlier this month have been confirmed by the listing in benchmark, so we now have a strong idea of what the Galaxy J2 has to offer in terms of specs.

First of all, Samsung Galaxy J2 will ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, which is a great advantage for a smartphone that will compete in the low tier category.

Obviously, we should wait and see how much the smartphone will cost and if the previous history confirms once again, Samsung will probably make it available on the market for slightly higher than what it is worth.

That always happens with Samsung smartphones, so if you're a fan and wish to grab the affordable Galaxy J2, expect it to be priced a bit higher than other smartphones in the same specs range.

It might be released in the next couple of weeks

That being said, let's see what the Galaxy J2 has to offer when it comes to hardware. Well, it looks like this is the smartphone that will pack Samsung's Exynos 3475 chipset for the first time.

The quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz has been confirmed in benchmark, along with the Mali-T720 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM. Also, the smartphone packs only 8GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the Galaxy J2 has been confirmed to pack a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording. In the front, the smartphone comes with a modest 2-megapixel selfies camera.

Weirdly enough, Samsung's affordable smartphone sports a large 5.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports a disappointing qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.

That's a curious choice for an entry-level Android smartphone coming from the South Korean company. Hopefully, this is just a mistake coming from the fact that the prototype unit wrongfully reported some of its specs.
