We've been reporting about Samsung's unannounced Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition for a couple of weeks now, but the South Korean company has yet to make it official.

Even though the smartphone has been spotted in benchmark and it's been on sale in a few countries, like Poland for example, Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition is a bit of mystery when it comes to worldwide availability.

Anyway, it looks like the smartphone has just been blessed with the newest version of Android released by Google, YouMobile reports.

For those of you who don't remember, the Galaxy Gran Prime Value Edition has been listed in Geekbench 3's database with Android 5.0 Lollipop inside.

This means that even if the smartphone might have been released with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, those who decided to go for it will soon receive a newer version of the platform.

The update is now available in two countries

According to the cited source, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition is now pushed to devices in Poland and Panama.

If you live in one of these countries and own the Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition, then you should look for firmware versions G531FXXU1AOF7 and G531MUBU1AOFB, respectively.

Keep in mind that the update file is about 730MB in size, so you should connect your smartphone to a Wi-Fi network to avoid data charges.

Samsung's decision to release a Value Edition of the Galaxy Grand Prime with only a few differences, Android 5.0 Lollipop being one of them, was pretty harsh for those who already own the standard version and are stuck on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Ultimately, this is just a marketing move that will certainly upset most of Galaxy Grand Prime owners, at least until Samsung decides to offer a Lollipop update for this particular smartphone as well.
