Seeing how February is only a few months away, Samsung is expected to be working hard on its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8. However, the company is also working on developing a few entry-level phones, including the Galaxy Grand Prime Plus, or J2 Prime, depending on the market.

The smartphone is said to carry the Galaxy Grand Prime Plus name in Eastern Europe, while in South America it will be dubbed J2 Prime. Specs for the device codenamed SM-G532 have been leaking for some time now, but Samsung has yet to release the smartphone.

WinFuture has got a hold of the specification list and images of the upcoming device. It seems that the Galaxy Grand Prime Plus, or J2 Prime, will have a 5.0-inch IPS display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution. The phone won’t come with any kind of Gorilla Glass or protection cover on the screen, but that’s to be expected from an entry-level phone.

The smartphone might have a 2,600mAh battery and will run Android 6.0

The phone runs a quad-core MediaTek MT6737T SoC based on four 1.45GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores, combined with 1.5GB of RAM. The Galaxy Grand Prime Plus/J2 Prime comes with 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded using a microSD card.

Rear camera capacity reaches 8MP, while the front camera will be a 2MP unit with f/2.2aperture. The smartphone comes with an LED flash on both cameras and it has LTE support, as well as connectivity options for N-WLAN and Bluetooth 4.2.

Moreover, the upcoming device draws power from a 2600mAh battery. It weighs 156 grams and comes with a thickness of about 8.7 millimeters. The variant which will be made available in South America is equipped with a digital TV receiver, which won’t be made available in other regions.

As for the operating system on board, the smartphone is said to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will be made available in black, gold, white and pink. The new phone is expected to carry a price tag of about $153.
