After making its debut in the United States a few months ago, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is now headed to Canada. The affordable smartphone will be available very soon at major Canadian carriers, including Telus.

According to MobileSyrup, the Galaxy Grand Prime won't be too expensive, as customers will be able to pick this one up for just $250 outright or $50 on two-year agreements.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand Prime back in October, but the smartphone shipped with Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box.

This is not the case now since the Canadian version of the smartphone will launch with Android 5.1 Lollipop onboard, so customers won't have to worry about getting one of the latest versions of the OS.

They should be worried about Android M since this is an affordable smartphone and Samsung is less likely to offer this upgrade next year.

Nevertheless, the mid-range Android smartphone comes with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that sports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.

On the inside, the device is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with an Adreno 306 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Even though it comes with only 8GB of internal memory, users can further expand storage up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the Galaxy Grand Prime features an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Last but not least, the smartphone comes with 4G LTE support, NFC (Near Field Communication), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, as well as microUSB 2.0, and packs a decent 2,600 mAh battery, which should provide up to 17 hours of talk time.
