Samsung has been rumored to be working on a new Android flip phone since June of this year, and last month, the Galaxy Folder 2 surfaced at TENAA, revealing some of its specs. Now it seems that promotional images of the handset have made their way to the Internet, according to SamMobile.
The Galaxy Folder 2 seems to have a design similar to that of its predecessor, the Galaxy Folder, which was introduced last year. It comes with a really slim body for a flip phone, and the images show off the gold color variant, which was spotted on TENAA last month.
Rumors of the device's specs seem to point to a 3.8-inch touchscreen display and a 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor. Aside from this, the Galaxy Folder 2 could provide 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
Galaxy Folder 2 could run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
Rear camera capacity is said to reach 8MP, with a 5MP selfie snapper on the front. Still, it would take some getting used to, especially when it comes to taking selfies because of the phone's design. The Galaxy Folder 2 will draw power from a 2,000mAh battery and come with a microSD card for added internal storage. It will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and its price tag is estimated to reach $250.
Samsung seems to think there's a market for such flip phones, but the device will reportedly only be sold in China. The Galaxy Folder 2 comes with some improvements over its predecessor, which was released in July 2015.
The initial Galaxy Folder packed with a 3.8-inch touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution and had an 8MP rear camera, with a 2MP unit on the front. In addition, it featured a 1,800mAh battery and 8GB of internal storage that could be expanded to 256GB using a microSD card. RAM capacity reached 1.5GB, and the phone ran Android 5.1 Lollipop.
