Samsung might be preparing to release a new smartphone, considering that Galaxy A8 (2016) has gotten benchmarked again and has even received Bluetooth certification, which usually means that it won't be long before the device is announced.

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016) has been recently benchmarked, featuring the code number SM-A810, the same as in other benchmark tests. Some specs of this upcoming smartphone have been revealed during the benchmark test at Geekbench. We thus know that it might come with a 5.1-inch display with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920. In addition, the handset seems to run Exynos 7420, the same processor that was used to power some of Samsung's high-end devices, like the Galaxy S6 line and Galaxy Note 5.

The processor will carry an octa-core 2.1GHz CPU, with Mali-T760 MP8 graphics processing unit. In addition, it will have 3GB of RAM and come with 32GB of internal storage. Rear camera capacity could reach 16MP, with a 5MP camera on the front.

The smartphone appears to run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. What's more, the Galaxy A8 (2016) was also benchmarked over at GFXBench last month, and specs from the two tests seem to be the same. The device has also received Bluetooth certification, according to SamMobile.

Samsung's Galaxy A8 (2016) will be a successor to last year's Galaxy A8, which was dubbed the slimmest Android smartphone. The mid-ranger had a larger display than its successor, measuring 5.7 inches with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.

It also came with Exynos 5430 or Snapdragon 615 and had a 16MP camera on the back and a 5MP unit on the front. It had 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable memory. The smartphone was sold for the approximate price of $507 and came in multiple color variants.

At this point, there's no information as to when Samsung will release the new Galaxy A8 (2016), but seeing how the phone has gotten benchmarked multiple times and received Bluetooth certification, it shouldn't be long until it hits stores.
