Samsung plans several new Android smartphone launches by the end of the year and the Galaxy A series will definitely become larger in the next couple of weeks.

At least three Galaxy A family smartphones will get their sequels in the next months: Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7.

Information about their successors has been leaked in the past, but nothing clear until now. It looks like the Galaxy A5's sequel has just been spotted at GFXBench, which means we now have an idea of what it has to offer in terms of specs.

First of all, the smartphone goes by the model name Samsung SM-A510F, but the market name will most certainly be different.

It will be powered by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, so don't get your hopes high for a Samsung mid-range smartphone with Marshmallow until next year.

Still, this isn't bad news since Samsung is likely to provide Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade for most Galaxy A devices launched this year, so the Galaxy A5 successor will most certainly get one, especially considering its specs.

A more than decent mid-range smartphone

Moving on to hardware, Samsung SM-A510F flaunts a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. There's no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass coating, but that doesn't mean that it won't come with extra screen protection.

On the inside, the smartphone employs the services of a powerful Exynos 7 Octa chipset that packs a 1.6GHz octa-core processor and a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit.

The Galaxy A5 sequel will pack 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, but we expect it to include microSD card slot for memory expansion as well.

Last but not least, the listing at GFXBench reveals the SM-A510F features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera in the front.
