Samsung is expected to refresh its Galaxy A series, and the first announcements should go live sometime this month. The Galaxy A5 (2017) should be among the first to be revealed by Samsung in December, but if you're curious about its specs, you won't have to wait until it goes official.

Although Samsung hasn't yet announced the Galaxy A5 (2017), the smartphone was recently the subject of a video review and a hands-on session. So, if you're interested in Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A series, here are a couple of things that you should know about one of these handsets.

First of all, the Galaxy A5 (2017) has already been confirmed to pack a 5.2-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. Considering this is a mid-range smartphone, it doesn't come as a surprise that Samsung added 3GB of RAM inside and an octa-core Exynos 7880 processor.

Furthermore, the phone is supposed to include 32GB of storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. Unfortunately, we don't have any details on the Galaxy A5 (2017)'s camera, but we do know the smartphone will come with dual cameras (one in the front and a secondary one on the back).

The phone does come with a fingerprint sensor positioned below the Home button, as well as a USB Type-C port on the bottom side.

The prototype unit that's been the subject of this video review runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but we don't rule out the possibility of an Android 7.0 Nougat update soon after release.

We doubt that Samsung will have enough time to announce the Galaxy A5 (2017) with Android 7.0 Nougat, but that's not impossible.

The South Korean company is expected to unveil one or more Galaxy A series smartphones in December. The Galaxy A5 (2017) could be among the first devices in the Galaxy A family to be revealed, so stay tuned for more.
