14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has recently released its latest flagship worldwide, and while sales are going unexpectedly well, we mustn’t forget that Samsung generates a large portion of its revenue from selling mid-range devices. The Galaxy A5 (2017) has recently been spotted on Geekbench, which means that Samsung is working on the successor to last year’s model.
Reportedly, Samsung’s next generation of Galaxy A5 has been spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench. The smartphone features the codename SM-A520F, which is the first hint that this device belongs to the Galaxy A5 series, considering that last year’s model had the codename SM-A510F.
The Geekbench test has been spotted by Android Pure, which reveals that the phone could pack a 1.87GHz octa-core Exynos 7880 processor and possibly its equivalent from Qualcomm in certain markets.
Aside from this, it could offer 3GB of RAM while last year’s model came with 2GB of RAM. The handset appears to run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and it scored 817 in a single-core test and 4692 under multi-core.
In addition, it seems that the Galaxy A5 (2017) has recently been imported into India for testing and appeared on Zauba, according to Tech Updates.
The Galaxy A5 (2016) came with 2GB of RAM and Exynos 7580 or SD615
Samsung’s Galaxy A5 (2016) was released in December last year, and it came with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display that supports full HD resolution. It packed Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 processor or Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 7580 and featured Adreno 405 graphics processing unit or Mali-T720MP2, depending on the market.
The smartphone had 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, as well as a non-removable 2,900mAh battery. Galaxy A5 (2017) should come as an improvement over the Galaxy A5 (2016), which means that it should have a larger battery.
Rear camera capacity on the Galaxy A5 (2017) reached 13MP with f/1.9 aperture, OIS, autofocus, LED flash, and face detection. Front camera capacity was 5MP with f/1.9 aperture, and it had the ability to record 1080p video, just like the rear camera.
