Samsung has been working on new iterations of its Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 smartphones, but not much information is known about the upcoming phones. The Galaxy A5 (2017) was recently spotted on a benchmarking site and it seems that the phone has already received Wi-Fi certification.

Two models of the Galaxy A5 (2017) have received certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance. The SM-A520F model is a single SIM variant, while the SM-A520F/DS is the dual-SIM one. The listing spotted by SamMobile didn’t reveal many details on the upcoming smartphone, but it does mean that the device could be announced soon.

Recent leaks and rumors on the upcoming smartphone do point towards a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display and an Exynos 7880 processor inside the phone. The Galaxy A5 (2017) could also come with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory with the option to add up to 256GB using a microSD card.

In addition, it could have a 13MP rear camera and a 3,000mAh removable battery. The smartphone could run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and A7 (2017) could be announced soon

It will surely be an upgrade to its predecessor, the Galaxy A5 (2016), which was announced back in December last year. The previous model had 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, and it ran Snapdragon 615 SoC or Exynos 7580, depending on the region.

It also featured a non-removable 2,900mAh battery and a 13MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, OIS and LED flash.

The Galaxy A5 (2017) should arrive soon and it could be announced at the same time as the Galaxy A7 (2017), which also appeared on a benchmark site recently. The phone appears to run an octa-core 1.8GHz CPU and sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display.

It might come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, as well as a 16MP rear camera and 16MP sensor in the front.
