14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has recently introduced a new Galaxy A series that comprises three premium smartphones: Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A7.
All three are sequels to handsets with the same name that were launched about a year ago, which is why Samsung has tagged them with the “2016” number.
That number is the year when these smartphones will go on sale worldwide, not just in China, where they can be purchased beginning month.
Customers in Europe interested in acquiring one of these new smartphones will be pleased to know that Samsung will make them available beginning early January.
According to a Dutch retailer, Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) and Galaxy A5 (2016) will be available for purchase starting January 8, 2016. Customers can buy them for €330 and €430, respectively.
There's no word on Galaxy A7 (2016)'s availability yet, but we suspect Samsung will introduce this handset in Europe as well.
No word on availability in North America yet
Up until now, the South Korean company has been mum on a possible release of these Galaxy A series devices in North America, so stay tuned for more on this one.
If you're not familiar with any of these two smartphones, here is a quick rundown of their specs. First of all, both devices ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.
The Galaxy A3 (2016) sports a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with HD (720p) resolution, whereas the Galaxy A5 (2016) features a larger 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD (1080p) resolution.
On the inside, the former packs a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and 1.5GB RAM, while the latter comes equipped with a 1.6GHz octa-core processor and 2GB RAM.
Both smartphones have 16GB storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. Also, they feature 13-megapixel cameras on the back side and 5-megapixel cameras on the front.
