14 DAY TRIAL // We've been reporting about Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A series smartphones for the last couple of weeks, but we've never actually seen any of these devices.
Today, Vietnamese blog SamsungViet posted the first pictures of the alleged Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 sequels, which apparently will arrive on the market with almost similar names.
The cited source reports that pictures of the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 (2016 Edition) were recently leaked via a Twitter account.
Both phones caught in these live pictures look pretty sleek and stylish. They strongly resemble the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5, which means Samsung adopted this new design for all its mid- to high-end smartphones.
The back side of the phones seem to feature the same glass coating present on Samsung's flagship smartphones. However, they kept the metal frame that is one of the main highlights of the Galaxy A series phones.
Both are decent upgrades over their predecessors
There aren't any details on the phones' specs in the report, but we already know the sequels of the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 come with slightly improved features over their predecessors.
For example, the Galaxy A3 (2016 Edition) should sport a 4.75-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, while the Galaxy A5's sequel should come with a larger 5.2-inch display.
Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016 Edition) could pack a 1.5GHz quad-core Exynos 7580 processor, a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit and 1.5GB of RAM.
It will also come with 16GB of internal memory, microSD card slot for storage expansion, 13-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel selfie camera in the front.
On the other hand, Galaxy A5 (2016 Edition) hardware configuration includes a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7 Octa processor, a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit, 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage.
Both 2016 Edition Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 should be launched by the end of this year, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
