Samsung begins rolling out a new update of its in-house built TouchWiz Home launcher to add a couple of improvements and fix those lag issues Galaxy 8 and 8+ owners reported lately.

The official Samsung TouchWiz Home launcher was recently updated to version 6.1.09.2, a minor release that adds an information screen, improves the visibility of application names under icons, which appeared to be quite difficult to read when certain background images were used on the Home screen.

Most importantly, the update attempts to fix a lag issue that could appear when switching between the Home and Apps screens by swiping up and down. So if you previously experienced lag issues with your Galaxy 8 or 8+ smartphone, don't hesitate to update TouchWiz Home to version 6.1.09.2 and see if the issues persist.

The new Samsung TouchWiz Home update is now available for installation from the app store of your choice, and it was released only for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ devices. Samsung encourages Galaxy 8 and 8+ owners to update their smartphones regularly to keep it safe and running smooth.

TouchWiz Home 6.1.09.2 now available from Google Play Store, Galaxy Apps store

Launched in April, Galaxy 8 and 8+ are Samsung's new flagship models, both shipping with TouchWiz Home pre-installed by default on top of Google's Android 7.0 (Nougat) mobile operating system. Samsung TouchWiz Home provides Home and Apps screens for Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

You can install Samsung TouchWiz Home 6.1.09.2 right now from either the Samsung Galaxy Apps store or Google Play store. We recommend that you reboot your device after installing the update and drop us a line if the lag issues are gone after installing the new TouchWiz Home update.
