14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has just unveiled the Z2, the third smartphone to run Tizen OS and the company detailed some of the changes that the latest Tizen version has brought. The update to Tizen 2.4.0.4 will start rolling out next month.
Samsung detailed thirteen new changes that users can look for inside the new Tizen OS version, on a post made by the Research & Development team at Samsung. The post was made on the Tizen Community Forum and reveals that Tizen 2.4.0.4 will come with SMS delivery report.
This new feature will allow users to receive delivery reports in the phone settings, so that they would know if their message was sent.
The new version also comes with battery status reminders so that users can set customizable reminders to get notifications when the phone battery reaches a certain level. Samsung also introduced a feature that allows users to easily enable outdoor mode setting without being required to unlock the device. Users can also customize personal memos using lots of color options.
Tizen 2.4.0.4 comes with Beauty Face mode and custom ringtones
Tizen 2.4 also comes with the option to adjust the intensity of the torch on devices. The new version also allows users to set custom app shortcuts on their lock screen, which would help them get access to various applications that they like the most.
The new version comes with the option to move, share or delete multiple files with one move. In addition, it comes with custom ringtones and Samsung has made some design changes and made SMS bubbles wider. Moreover, Samsung introduced “Beauty Face” mode in order to help users enhance their photos easier.
Some security features are also introduced, as Tizen users will be able to block unwanted messages. Tizen 2.4.0.4 will come with a tool that allows users to shift ACL to SD card to say on internal memory and the option to add quick memos, so that they can save information faster.
Samsung also launched Tizen App Challenge aimed at Unity developers who can enter the contest from August 18 to November 21, 2016 and win multiple prizes.
