Rumors about the next Tizen-running smartphone from Samsung have been leaking for some time now and it seems that they were finally confirmed, as Samsung has just unveiled the Samsung Z2 in India. The low-end smartphone carries a price tag of about $68 (€60).

Samsung has just announced the Z2 in India and specs do reveal that the smartphone will be a rather low-end one. Samsung's Z2 will be the first to support 4G LTE connectivity and it will be coming with a 3.97-inch AMOLED display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution.

The Z2 is one of the thickest smartphones that Samsung has released in the past period of time and it runs a 1.5GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor. It also comes with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory and a 5MP rear camera with LED flash. Internal storage can be increased to 128GB using a microSD card.

Samsung Z2 will be made available starting August 29

The phone will also have a VGA front camera and 1,500mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving mode. It runs Tizen 2.4 out of the box and has the My Money Transfer app for users from India. The app allows users to transfer money between different bank accounts.

The Z2 also comes with a tool that allows users to switch between apps with a simple swipe up from the bottom of the screen. It also comes with Samsung apps, like S Bike Mode and support for 12 regional languages. The smartphone also comes with Ultra Data Saving mode for saving up to 40% of mobile data by blocking unneeded background apps from data consumption.

Considering the low-end specs, the price of the phone is set at an affordable $68 and it will be made available in some color variants, like gold, black and red wine. The smartphone is available starting August 29 at offline and online retailers, like Paytm.
