14 DAY TRIAL // One of the world's largest smartphone businesses, Samsung, has yet to confirm which handsets and tablets will be getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade in the future.
Even though it's not hard to guess that all high-end Galaxy smartphones launched in the last two years will be updated to Marshmallow, there are many customers who couldn't afford such expensive devices and are anxious to find out whether or not Samsung will upgrade their phones, too.
We had quite a few leaks in the past suggesting Samsung has already decided on its Android Marshmallow update roadmap, but it looks like things have changed.
A new list that contains the names of Samsung's devices that will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrades next year has just leaked online via SamsungViet.
Keep in mind that many sources have claimed in the past that Samsung never uses this type of lists, so take the information with a grain of salt until official word emerges.
Well, according to the list published by the cited source, the highly anticipated Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has been moved from December 2015 to Q1 2016.
No budget-friendly smartphones will receive the update
Samsung will begin the rollout of Android 6.0 Marshmallow in Q1 2016 for the following phones: Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note edge, Galaxy Note 4 (DUOS variant too), Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note edge+, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 (DUOS variant too), Galaxy S5, Galaxy S5 Neo, and Galaxy S5 LTE-A.
Beginning Q2 2016, Samsung will provide Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for the following devices: Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Tab A, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, and Galaxy Tab S2 8.0.
The leaked list also mentions that these dates are “estimated,” which means they can be changed at any moment. It's also worth mentioning that new devices might be added to the list in the coming months.
