Samsung has already started mass production of Galaxy S8 and S8+ units at its facility in Vietnam, according to a report from Korea. The company expects to sell more than 10 million units of its next flagship.

The report quotes an official from a company that supplies cameras for Samsung Electronics, saying that component suppliers are raising their yields significantly since Samsung has decided to ramp up production.

Samsung is preparing for a global launch, and it intends to sell the Galaxy S8 and S8+ across most markets at roughly the same time. The report mentions that the device maker will manufacture 4.7 million Galaxy S8 series in March and 7.8 million in April.

Samsung will announce the Galaxy S8 and S8+ on March 29

The phone should go on sale soon after the March 29 unveiling event, and Samsung will initially sell 12.5 million Galaxy S8 units in the first month of availability. Sadly, the report doesn’t mention how many units of the Galaxy S8+ will be produced or whether the company believes that the larger model would sell better than the 5.8-inch standard one.

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.8-inch display and have fairly the same design as the larger 6.2-inch model. The phone will come with a Super AMOLED screen with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and 4GB of RAM inside.

The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC will power the device, while the S8 will also come with 64GB of internal memory, a 12MP dual pixel rear camera and 8MP front selfie snapper. The Galaxy S8 is expected to feature IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, as well as Samsung’s own Bixby virtual assistant and an iris scanner. The phone will be announced on March 29, during a special event to be held in New York City, while the S8 might go on sale on April 21.
