The stylus can get stuck in the water-tight silo

The Galaxy Note 7 comes with lots of improvements to its predecessor the Galaxy Note 5, especially when it comes to the S Pen. However, it seems that the stylus may cause issues to some users and get stuck in its water-tight silo.

Some users have reported on the XDA developers forum that the S Pen can get stuck if pushed too hard in its water-tight silo. It seems that a user pushed the S Pen inside the silo, just past the seal and it didn't come out.

The user eventually found a way to recover the S Pen using a thumbtack to poke the seal and get the stylus past it. Apparently, if the stylus is pushed in too far, it can get stuck on the seal. Users should lightly push the S Pen and then wait for the confirmation click, as to avoid getting the stylus stuck.

Pushing the stylus even deeper in wouldn't cause it to spring back up, once the silo entry seals, the stylus is locked in.

The S Pen on the Galaxy Note 5 got stuck if inserted backwards

This is not the first time that users have experienced issues with the S Pen on a Note device. Galaxy Note 7's predecessor, the Note 5 caused some problems for users, as the stylus could be inserted backwards and get stuck.

It seems that if the S Pen was inserted backwards, users didn't have any solution for pulling the stylus out without causing any damages. If they pulled the pen really hard, they could break the lever off the mainboard. Samsung seems to have fixed this issue in the new Note 7, but another issue surfaced with the S Pen being inserted too far.

Owners of Galaxy Note 7 should be careful when inserting their S Pen in the smartphone, as to avoid getting it stuck.
