On the last day of September, Calculate Linux's Alexander Tratsevskiy was more than proud to announce the release and immediate availability of his Calculate Linux 15 operating system based on Gentoo Linux.

According to the release notes, Calculate Linux 15 comes with a brand-new method for updating packages, which appears to be more reliable and faster, to eat less bandwidth, as well as to offer a higher level of testing, the implementation of common binary repositories, unifying distribution profiles and offering over 2,500 packages that are distributed as binaries.

The Calculate Linux developers inform us that the new package update method has been engineered from the ground up to be able to choose the fastest and closest mirror available before attempting to update your system, download and install packages at the same time, as well as to synchronize the software repositories only when updates are available.

"We are happy to announce the release of Calculate Linux 15," says Alexander Tratsevskiy. "Calculate Linux Desktop, featuring either the KDE (CLD), the MATE (CLDM) or the Xfce (CLDX) environment, Calculate Directory Server (CDS), Calculate Media Center (CMC), Calculate Linux Scratch (CLS), Calculate Scratch Server (CSS) are all available for download."
