ABC’s The View was once a great show, a sure winner in the ratings. For the past few years, though, it has been struggling, bringing in new co-hosts at such a rapid pace that, if you’re not a serious fan, chances are you've probably lost count of them all already.

Rosie Perez, who joined the team in September last year, is done. You can see her tearful and emotional goodbye in the video below, courtesy of Yahoo!.

Rosie didn’t last a year on the show, and based on her reaction, she probably didn’t want to go as badly as she claimed. The official reason for the departure is that she wants to pursue her career in acting, but if that was really the case, one would assume she’d be less heartbroken about it.

Overall though, she said all the right things and thanked all the right people before she bowed out. Word in the industry has it that she was axed once producers understood that their little experiment with her wasn’t working: bringing in the first Latina on The View still had failed to bring in the ratings.

No word yet on who will replace Perez.
