Video game developer Rockstar is announcing that the full editor for Grand Theft Auto V, which is already offered on the PC, is set to also come to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in the next major update for those versions of the game.

The information comes from an article that talks about the winners of the content creation contest associated with the recent Ill Gotten Gains update.

Rockstar is not saying when the next major update for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 versions of GTA V will be launched, but the very fact that it is talking about it probably means that the company will make an official announcement soon.

The next Rockstar Editor content will include console players, offering fans of the title the ability to get access to an even greater amount of new content created by the community.

The company states, "The upcoming launch of the Rockstar Editor for PS4 and Xbox One as the next update to Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online means the next Rockstar Editor Contest will be the first one with entries across all three platforms - so the creative competition will be fiercer than ever."

Online mode is the star of GTA V

Rockstar has been focusing on the delivery of more content for the multiplayer-focused experience for the open world game because it has become very popular with gamers on both consoles and on the PC.

The delivery of the editor is a great way to lessen the pressure on the studio to create entirely new missions because gamers have the option to put together their own.

Since the Rockstar Editor has arrived on the PC, gamers have used it to offer remakes of classic moments from the history of the series and to introduce entirely new takes on some of the familiar moments from single-player.

The Online experience for GTA V had plenty of problems when it was launched, but the developers have delivered patches and updates that greatly improved the quality of the experience.

The game is also rumored to get more single-player downloadable content, but no official announcement has yet been made by Rockstar in this regard.
