Gamers will have to move tracks one by one

The development team at Harmonix is preparing for the launch of Rock Band 4, and that means gamers who plan to get the new music title will be able to get the old downloadable songs they have bought in order to use them in the coming experience.

It's great that the studio is offering support for older tracks, but it will be hard for gamers to get access to them all, especially if they picked up a lot of packs in the past.

The biggest limitation for song transfer linked to Rock Band 4 is that each track will be transferred individually, even if it was obtained as part of a bigger DLC pack.

The official guide explains that "First and foremost, you will have to re-download each DLC entitlement individually in order to play these tracks in Rock Band 4. Due to 1st party technical restrictions, we are unable to support batch downloads within the 1st party stores. If you want your DLC downloaded to your console, you will have to re-download tracks individually."

The company offers clear instructions on how the process works on both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, and no cross-platform transfers are possible.

Fans of the franchise have something to keep them occupied until Rock Band 4 is finally launched on both platforms on October 6.

DLC prices are returning to 1.99 dollars or Euro after launch

Harmonix also makes it clear that it has worked hard to go through the entire catalog of songs that was offered for older installments in the franchise in order to add new gameplay elements, including dynamic drum fills and freestyle guitar solos.

These features associated with Rock Band 4 make the songs more interesting to play but because of the associated volume of work, the company is announcing that prices for all the DLC are returning to 1.99 dollars or Euro when launch takes place, ending a long-running sale.

More than 1,700 tracks have been improved, offering gamers a wide array of styles and bands to choose from.

Harmonix has recently announced that 2 songs from U2 are being delivered in Rock Band 4 and that a bigger DLC associated with the band will be offered at a later date.
