Rise of the Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics confirms that the new game has a world that's three times bigger than the previous title, and more importantly, there will be no loading screens separating different zones from one another.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was revealed to the world one year ago, at Gamescom 2014, and Crystal Dynamics has confirmed all sorts of different details about the upcoming title. After sharing some fresh gameplay footage at E3 2015 in June, the studio is preparing for another big reveal at Gamescom 2015 later this week.

The new game boasts a bigger world and no loading screens

Until then, the studio's Game Director, Brian Horton, confirms to GamingBolt that Rise of the Tomb Raider makes some serious technical improvements in order to produce not just a bigger world but also one that has no loading screens.

More specifically, the actual space that can be explored by protagonist Lara Croft is three times bigger than what was seen in Tomb Raider a few years ago. Throw in the special traversal mechanics, which allow Lara to climb trees or swim underwater, and players will be able to go in all sorts of ways while traveling through Siberia.

However, players won't be met by any type of loading screens, as Horton mentions that everything will be seamlessly streamed by the game so as to not pull fans out of the actual experience.

"As soon as you start a new game if you never died or don’t quit you will have a seamless streaming experience throughout the whole game. We want to immerse the player into the world as soon as possible and flow from mission to mission in a very seamless way. Our exploration spaces are 3 times larger than they were in the last game and our tombs are much bigger," he explains.

As such, when Rise of the Tomb Raider debuts on Xbox One on November 10, fans will be greeted with a pretty impressive action-adventure experience. Meanwhile, PC and PS4 users will have to wait until 2016 for their versions of the game.
