UK-based video games publisher Feral Interactive announced on Wednesday that it plans to launch the Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration action-adventure video game on the Linux platform on April 19, 2018.

Feral Interactive already released their macOS port of Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration on April 12, 2018, and it promised to launch the Linux port too in the coming weeks. Well, the wait is now almost over and Linux gamers will be able to play the famous video game on their favorite GNU/Linux distributions on April 19.

"Tomorrow, on April 19th, hunt and climb your way to survival in Rise of the Tomb Raider for Linux. Become Lara Croft to tame the frozen forests, crumbling ruins and ancient crypts of this acclaimed action-adventure. Learn more on our minisite," said Feral Interactive in a tweet posted earlier today.

The Linux system requirements are yet to be announced

Unfortunately, Feral Interactive did not yet publish any information on the system requirements for playing Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration on Linux, so we expect to know more about the supported graphics cards, CPU, and RAM tomorrow, April 19, 2018, when they plan to launch the game on Steam and the Feral Store.

What we know so far is that the Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration edition includes all released DLCs, such as Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, Blood Ties, and Cold Darkness Awakened. In addition, it comes with the Lara's Nightmare Expedition mode, Endurance Mode and Expedition Cards, as well as the Extreme Survivor difficulty level.

Also, if you already own the game because you've played it on Windows or macOS, you won't have to buy it again, even if you don't own the "20 Year Celebration" edition. Tomorrow, once the game is officially launched by Feral Interactive, it will automatically appear on your Steam account so you can download and install on your Linux gaming rig.
